Oculus Utilities for Unity Reference Manual
Using Unity with the Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR

Welcome to the Oculus Unity SDK. Unity provides one of the fastest paths to building immersive virtual worlds. To learn more about the SDK and how to build great experiences, please see the Oculus Utilities for Unity Guide and the Oculus Best Practices Guide. Both are available on the Oculus website under Documentation.

To use the Oculus Utilities for Unity, follow these steps:

  1. Download the package from the Downloads section of the Oculus website.
  2. Find and import OculusUtilities.unitypackage.
  3. Remove or disable any Camera in your scene that doesn't have a target texture.
  4. Instantiate the OVRPlayerController prefab for locomotion or the OVRCameraRig for simple head tracking.
  5. Build and run your project.

Only D3D11 and D3D12 are currently supported on Windows.
